Emerging out of the ruins of the tricked up 80’s music scene, Australian band
The Badloves established itself as an antidote to the after-party.
Complete with raw Hammond organ and guitars, driven bass and drums, and a soul-fuelled singer songwriter, the combo drew a distinct line in the sand. The band was now battle-ready having built its live reputation in the trenches of the Melbourne pub scene.
Come summer ’92, with their soul and RnB undergarments clearly showing, The Badloves cut their own style, distilling unique songs and real performance clout into a studio debut that flagged the arrival of a band whose time had come.
With 3 Aria awards under the bonnet, this debut LP ‘Get On Board’ hovered in the charts for a gravity defying 69 weeks... a magic carpet ride for a band whose wheels had never left the highway.
The Badloves enjoyed several hit singles during the early to mid nineties including ‘Green Limousine’, ‘Lost’, Caroline’, ‘Slave’, ‘Barefoot Bride’ and the Top 5 ARIA charting ‘The Weight’ (With Jimmy Barnes). The band’s debut album ‘Get On Board’ peaked at #5 on the ARIA Albums Chart and achieved double platinum status.
It’s 2019 and the caravan is on the go. The Badloves have taken aim with a big tune from the heart of the landscape.
Feathers will fly with ‘SoulbrotherTruckinSong’... it’s the first arrow to leave the bow in over 20 years! Recorded and Mixed by Dan Corless at Wick Studios in Melbourne and Mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London.
